#Bessel functions

A family of wavy curves, J_0, J_1, J_2 and so on, that start near zero and swing with a slowly shrinking swing. In FM synthesis they give the size of each sideband: the one k steps of the modulator away from the note is as loud as J_k of the index, so as the index grows the energy spreads outwards from the note.
